Top Features of the DeltaPoint Pro Reflex Sight

Design

The Leupold DeltaPoint Pro is manufactured from aircraft-grade aluminum, making for a chassis that is ultra-lightweight but durable. The sight weighs a mere 1.9 oz with the battery installed.

The sight’s design includes a steel sheath that protects the lenses from impacts shooters encounter at the range or in the field. This reflex sight uses an aspheric lens to reduce spherical or optical aberrations like astigmatism. These types of lenses can also provide a crisper viewing experience.

Leupold applies a proprietary coating called DiamondCoat for a highly scratch-resistant lens. The DeltaPoint Pro provides one of the clearest viewing options in micro red dot sights.

The DeltaPoint Pro is waterproof up to a depth of 33 feet, which is comparable to the IPX8 rating. This reflex sight is also considered fog proof. Having a red dot sight that can stand up to high moisture environments is important for long-term reliability of the optic in various conditions.

Being a micro red dot sight, the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro boasts a small footprint with a length of 1.82 inches and a width of 1.31 inches. The overall height of the sight is 1.30 inches. The DeltaPoint Pro is slightly larger than some of the other MRDS allowing for a larger viewing window and an increased Field of View (FOV).

Reticle

The Leupold DeltaPoint Pro has two options when it comes to reticle size/pattern: a 2.5 MOA red dot or a 7.5 MOA red Inscribed Delta (triangle).

Reticle size depends on the application and personal preference. A smaller reticle dot can deliver more precision for mid-range engagements, while some shooters prefer a larger dot for close-quarters engagements.

This reflex sight has eight brightness settings controlled by a single button at the top of the sight. To change the brightness level of the sight, you must cycle through each setting to the highest or lowest setting before you can adjust it in the other direction. Or you can press and hold the button for 2 seconds to change the adjustment direction.

Operation

A single 3V CR2032 lithium battery powers the DeltaPoint Pro. The battery is conveniently located on the top of the sight and easily accessible via a button. This is a great feature that allows for quick and easy replacement of the battery without any tools.

The battery life of the DeltaPoint Pro is around 300 hours under continuous use at the highest setting, according to Leupold Technical Service. The red dot will flash ten times when low battery power is detected.

This red dot sight utilizes motion sensor technology that places the optic in sleep mode after 5 minutes without movement. When the sight senses movement, it powers up the red dot to the last brightness setting for immediate target engagement.

The elevation adjustment is on the top of the sight while the windage adjustment is on the right side. The adjustment screws are recessed to safeguard against accidental changes but are readily accessible with a cartridge or a coin.

The Leupold DeltaPoint Pro adjustments are 1 MOA (Minute of Angle) per click with +-60 MOA of adjustment available for both windage and elevation.

Mounting

With the DeltaPoint Pro, almost all mounting scenarios will require a mounting base sold separately. You will not need a mounting base or a dovetail if you are mounting the reflex sight on a custom milled slide or a Glock Modular Optic System (MOS), or the Sig Sauer M-17.

Other Great Features

This red dot sight comes with factory blackened lens edges. Blackened lens edges greatly reduce stray light from other sources other than that of the optic LED. This feature ensures a crisp red dot that is visible at a lower brightness setting, keeping the dot as close to a perceived 2.5 MOA dot.

Common Questions

Can I achieve co-witness with my pistol iron sights? You will not be able to co-witness original iron sights with this red dot sight. Some suppressor height sights may provide varying degrees of a co-witness. The DeltaPoint Pro has an optional rear iron sight that mounts to the optic.

Does Leupold’s lifetime guarantee cover this optic? DeltaPoint Pro is covered under the Gold Ring Lifetime Guarantee. If you ever encounter an issue with the optic or the electronics, contact a Technical Service Representative at 1-800-LEUPOLD.

Is the DeltaPoint Pro parallax free? The sight is calibrated to be parallax free at infinity. So the sight is parallax free until you get within 5-10 yards.
